Happened to bump into this bakery when i was shopping around lexington. I didn’t know what to grab so I simply ordered the traditional red velvet cupcake because it is a popular offering across bakeries, and how magnolia could impress customers using simple recipe like this. Then, I chose pictachio because it looked like one of the best sellers in the store. The cupcakes didn’t have lovely swirls of frosting; everything was so light and the cake was soft and crumbly. They did a good job in making very light and delicate cupcakes, but they were too soft: they couldn’t hold in texture when I tried to lift them up in my hand. Also, when I tried to pull out the liner the cake tended to stick onto it. The flavour was more towards the subtle side; good for those who are not looking for ultimately sweet, rich kinda cupcakes.
